Savo solution: Elbox XL modular electrical outlets with turning covers
The restored historically valuable National Library of Finland was reopened to the public on 1 March 2016. The library is located in the centre of Helsinki near Senate Square.
LPR Architects planned the library’s extensive renovation and conversion. The main planner was architect Pauno Narjus. The renovation of the protected building was planned in close cooperation with Finnish National Board of Antiquities. Accessibility, traffic and safety considerations were the focal points of the project in addition to modernization of the building’s technology. The main building technology goal was to create heat and humidity conditions with the best possible balance.
The project’s lead contractor was NCC Construction. Merianto Install implemented on site for example some of the library’s special furniture. Savo supplied specially painted Elbox XL modular electrical outlets with turning covers. The outlets were painted to exactly the same colour as the reading tables they were integrated into. The colour is graphite grey RAL 7022.
